30 Days

Day 12

It was really great to break bread with people that we have seen so long. To be surrounded by wonderful company great conversation. I'm very fortunate to have a husband who loves to cook and does it very well. Our lunch consisted of fabulous chicken, spinach salad, bean salad, potato salad and ending with a beautiful desert of Carmel crunch cake and an assortment of champagne grapes.   I was vigilant and stayed with chicken and the spinach salad and the bean salad and stayed away from Carmel crunch cake and potato salad. Big pat on the back for me. But me bad. Forgot to have the second shake in the evening. Oops!   Tomorrow I have self scheduled a cleanse day and see...

Day 11

It is Friday again and we are looking forward to having guests on Saturday. Relatives that are very health-conscious and have written books like kayaking in the Baja and and they are currently working on a book about running. Very inspirational people and I am looking forward to connecting with them again this weekend.  It has been probably 20 years since we last sat down and had a conversation.   Fridays are always a very busy day. Focused on all of things that have to be done before we shut down for the weekend. I met with a friend who was explained to me some of the challenges that he's been having with regards to weight loss as well and we exchange...

Day 10

It's day 10. Which means that I am one third of the way through the program and how do I feel? I am surprised that to shakes a day and a meal would be enough. I'm surprised that in fact I forgot to take the second shake today I'm not so sure that that's a good thing but that is what happened.  I'm eating more salads and a lot less carbs no bread no pasta.   What I also noticed is that belly fat seems to have been shrinking I don't feel as bloated as I did before I started the program. Don't get me wrong it's still there but I see an improvement. I do find myself a little bit more...

Day 9

Busy day.  Working hard but sometimes not so smart.  The two shakes per day and the meal seems to work well within a busy schedule.  Nothing much to report other than it is just another heat smothering day in TO. I am actually looking forward to the cooler weather of the fall so that I can go out for an easy walk on the beltline. Wouldn't it be great to be able to do a walkabout camera Safari on the beltline? Well let's just put that on my list of things to do. Maybe tomorrow. Weight 164.00...

Day 8

Starting Week 2 - Day 8.    Getting back on the program wagon amd still alittle disappointed that the 2 day cleanse did not work for me.  I cannot help but think that twenty years ago, day 2 would have been a breeze.  When did the mind set and physical ability to achieve it digress? Okay.  Back to square 1 - two shakes a day and a well balanced meal in the evening.  What I have noticed is a return to normal thirst and also I am now finding that the shakes are sweet enough.  in fact the Isalean chocolates are becoming very very sweet. I snack on almonds when needed and 1/4 Isalean bar when I need it. Weight: 164.00...

Day 7

Cleanse Day 2: This was not a successful day for me.  I felt a little tired but by noon I was not feeling well.  Nauseous, throbbing headache. I texted Coach to let her know that I am calling off cleanse day 2.  Just not feeling well.  I had to eat real food! I will have to revisit this next weekend. I was pretty surpised (and disappointed) that I could not get pass noon but I could no longer function and I had work to get done. I have a regular lunch and a shake in the early evening. Weight: 164.5    ...

Day 5

My first all "weekend" day where the normal week day routines take a back seat.  If I fall off any diet, these are the days that it will happen.  Full day at home - no distractions, no pressures and all kinds of opportunities to snack and much at whim. Started with the daily shake and the accelerator (I am not at all sure what it actually accelerates).  We are having a friends over for lunch and the meal has to be assembled.  Uh oh.    Yep, I munched.  That bean salad...

Day 4

Yee Haaa!  It's Friday. According to the suggested schedule, I should do a "cleanse".  Needless to say, "Cleanses" fill me with trepidation.  I have heard the horror stories of what cleanses to to a person's digestive system.  I have never been an eager participant on anything that requires me to be the guinea pig.  The "try-it-and-let's-see-what-happens"  is a big "not for me". I do understand that there must be some mechanism to promote better health but are cleanses the way to do it?  Beyond my pay grade to know this. For a cleanse I must follow the cleanse routine for a full day.  There is no meal at the ned of the cleanse as the normalcy resets on the next day.  It appears...

Day 3

Day 3 and 27 days to go. So far, I am managing the two shakes a day and hunger and cravings are easily handled by the "snacks" which remind me of giant sweettarts.  They are neither sweet or tart.  Dinner consisted of chicken and a healthy serving of spinach salad with Avacado dressing (store bought).  The biggest challenge is water consumption.  The "watering" has always been an issue for me, taking only second place to lack of exercise. It is a circular argument:  If I did not have to lug around the extra weight, I would find it easier to be active.  In order to lose the necessary weight, I have to get more exercise...
